Luton Council & Willmott Dixon held a Meet the Buyer event for construction companies interested in taking part in the upcoming ‘The Stage’ development. The event was deemed a success with over 100 attendees across the day.
The all-day event was held at the University of Bedfordshire’s Luton Campus and focused on the packages out for tender for The Stage. Attendees also heard from a range of other developers and contractors from projects across the borough such as Luton Town Football Club’s Power Court. The day was split into two, with presentations in the morning and workshops in the afternoon.
Morning Presentations
Attendees heard from Willmott Dixon & Luton Council’s procurement team on The Stage. The University of Bedfordshire also spoke on how they are supporting the construction industry before moving onto a presentation from Luton Town Football Club on Power Court. Just before lunch London Luton Airport’s procurement team also spoke on how the construction industry can work with them in the future.
Afternoon Workshops
In the afternoon, attendees were given the option of attending various workshops on; The Stage Q&A, Power Court, Support with Apprenticeships and Skills, Signing up to The Stage Procurement Portal and London Luton Airport.
