Following a £11.5 million refurbishment of Monarch hangar LLA are setting the foundations for creating up to 150 new jobs

The Monarch hangars, previously owned by Monarch Airlines, were acquired by LLA in 2024 and have been refurbished into two state of the art aircraft engineering and repair hangars and a new logistics centre.

One hangar will house a new easyJet apprentice training campus alongside an aircraft maintenance facility which will create around 30 highly skilled engineering roles and support around 40 apprentices a year. A second major airline is set to establish a maintenance and engineering facility at the other hangar, creating more engineering roles.

In addition to Monarch hangars refurbishment, LLA has a new consolidation centre which is expected to create another 30 new jobs while reducing vehicle movement and emissions across the airport campus. The consolidation centre will receive and process all airport deliveries, providing the various businesses within the airport with a smooth flow of goods.
